DGP visits army martyrs' homes at Panzpora, Bari Brahmana; Expresses solidarity and support | KNO

Chairs security review meeting at Awantipora; Impresses upon officers to enhance level of cooperation

Director General of Police Jammu and Kashmir, Dr. S.P Vaid today visited the martyrs homes  and  later chaired a security review meeting at Awantipora.  

The DGP visited the family of martyr Ravi Kumar son of Sh Rattan Lal resident  of Village  Tabela Sarore Baribhramana in the afternoon and family of Martyr  Ghulam Mohidin Rather at Panzpora Bijbehara Anantnag in the morning.

Inspector General of Police, Kashmir Zone Shri SJM. Gillani and GOC victor force Major General Ashok Narula and other senior officers of Police and Army   accompanied  DGP on his visit to the home of martyr  Ghulam Mohidin at Panzpora, Anantnag.

DGP  expressed solidarity with the bereaved families and prayed for the eternal peace of departed souls who gave supreme sacrifice of their lives while fighting the militants.

While interacting with the families of the martyrs he said that whole Police department is at the back of bereaved families and shares their grief and sorrow  and assured that every support would be provided to the families of these martyrs. 

   DGP also chaired a security review meeting at District Police office Awantipora and took stock of the prevailing security situation in South Kashmir.

The meeting was attended by Inspector General of Police, Kashmir Zone Shri. SJM Gillani, Deputy Inspector General of Police, South Kashmir, Shri S.P Pani and all the SsP of South Kashmir range. 

Addressing the meeting, Shri. Vaid stressed upon the officers to enhance the level of  coordination among all security agencies to deal with militants  and elements who are bent on vitiating peace and order in the state. He impressed  upon the security agencies  to keep a close and constant vigil for effective security management. 

Showing concern on the growing drug abuse the DGP implored upon the officers to keep major focus on the narcotics trade and ensure that people involved in the illicit trade of narcotics are booked.

Earlier, IGP Kashmir Shri S.J.M Gillani gave a detailed briefing regarding the overall security situation in the valley and enumerated strategy adopted to continue fight against the militancy.
